Great Start to Season 2013

Round 1 saw the introduction of a C grade team for the Mitchell Park Football Club. The first time in many many years. With the reserves team having a bye the C grade played at home before the A grade. The C grade turned it on to run out convincing winners 26.17 (173) to Ingle Farm 5.4 (34). Charlie Georges was sensational along with Brad "Steeley" Steele in the centre. Luke McDonnell returned to the Den to dominate up forward kicking a lazy 10.

After the C grade, the day just got better. In a grand final rematch against Tea Tree Gully the Lions showed that a win was never in doubt. They were simply ruthless. Everyone was a contributor and if it wasn't for so many points being kicked the result would have been far worse. Captain Troy Potuszynski repeated his 2012 Grand Final form with a dominating performance up forward kicking 13 goals. End result was 47.24 (306) to Tea Tree Gully 4.1 (25)

Lets hope the Lions can continue the good work this week when both As and reserves battle Westminster OS at the Glandore Oval and the C grade takes on Trinity OS.
