The retirement of a number of players & some clearances from 2013 Mitchell Park squads has necessitated the club to consider other options for this season.  The arrangement is in place as an interim solution for both clubs & MPFC is working towards fielding two sides independently in 2015.  This arrangement has the full support of the SAAFL.

The Junior program continues to grow with a likely 4 teams competing in U8's, U10's & U12's. Check out the website for match program & contact details.  New players are always welcome.

The Mitchell Park Sports & Community Club, with assistance from MPFC was recently awarded a $200,000 grant from the Office of Recreation & Sport to upgrade the oval lighting, cricket pitch surface, create walking trails and relocate the model car club to the north east area adjacent to the football oval.  Along with support from Marion Council the oval lights will be installed during May & will enable both junior & senior night games to be scheduled.  The other projects will be completed over the following 12 months.

AND, the City of Marion has approved an amazing $11.7M upgrade of the building & surrounds.  This will include a new purpose built 2 storey clubrooms & function centre designed to accommodate all the current & future sporting clubs & community groups. Spectator shelters, new cricket nets, centralised playground, 6 netball / tennis courts, outside gym stations, café & canteen, plaza area & function rooms are all included in the building proposal. The development of the Tonsley Hub is progressing with Tonsley TAFE opening in early March.  From 2015 there will be housing developments for 1500 residents as well as home to the Flinders University school of computer science, engineering & mathematics.  Tonsley community is right on our doorstep & presents commercial & participation opportunities for MPSCC & MPFC.
